CV checker for Egypt: match your CV to a job advert

Paste a job advert and your CV. You'll see which main words and phrases from the advert your CV already has, and which it doesn't, so you can fix it before you apply.

This tool runs only in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere. No signup.

Paste both texts to see which words from the advert your CV has and which it doesn't.

Say an advert for an accountant in New Cairo asks for SAP, reconciliations, VAT returns and fluent English, and your CV mentions Excel and reconciliations. The check shows that reconciliations matched, and that SAP and VAT returns are missing. If you've really done VAT returns, say so in those words. If you haven't used SAP, don't add it. You'll be asked about it in the interview.

What does the check look at?

It compares words and pairs of words in the two texts, and it ignores common words and place names such as Egypt, Cairo and Giza. It gives no score out of 100, on purpose. A number like that would tell you nothing about your real chances.

How do I use the result?

Go through the missing list one word at a time.

  • You do have it, in other words: use the advert's term. Write month-end close if that's what the advert says, not finishing the accounts.
  • You have it but left it out: add a line showing where you used it.
  • You don't have it: leave it out, and decide if you're still a fit. Adverts ask for more than they expect.
  • It's a language or a level, such as C1: state yours honestly. A call centre will usually test it on the phone.

Does this work on Arabic adverts?

It's built for English text, which is what most of our adverts use. On Arabic text, words with different endings won't always match, so treat the list as a rough guide.

Questions people ask

Does this pass an ATS?

Nobody outside an employer can promise that. Applicant systems differ, and a person usually reads the shortlist. This only shows whether your CV uses the advert's words.

Are my CV and the advert saved?

No. Neither is stored or sent anywhere. Close the page and they're gone.
